Police: Iowa teen stole iPod, posted on Facebook

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — An Iowa City teenager has been accused of taking a person’s iPod Touch and later uploading photos of himself onto the victim’s Facebook account.

Iowa City police say 19-year-old Ladarrel M. Jones stole the device and other items from a home in July.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (http://icp-c.com/17JT65v ) the iPod Touch owner contacted police in August to report that photos of Jones were on his Facebook account via the iPod Touch. The victim said he recognized Jones in public.

Police later matched the photos to Jones. He was arrested Friday, and police used pepper spray to restrain him.

Jones faces a simple misdemeanor count of fifth-degree theft and an aggravated misdemeanor count of interference with official acts causing bodily injury. Records do not indicate if he has an attorney.
