AMES, Iowa (AP) — Authorities briefly placed a high school in Ames on lockdown to investigate a nearby incident.
Commander Geoff Huff says the lockdown at Ames High School occurred around noon on Thursday. It was lifted around 1:30 p.m.
Huff says there was never an intruder in the school, and no weapons were involved in the incident outside the school.
Authorities are still working on resolving the original incident. They have not released additional information about it.
