MASON CITY, Iowa – We have an update to a story we’ve been following for a while now about a local man who’s battling a tough illness.
Jonathon Boyle suffers from Crohn’s disease, and today the community is coming together to show their support for him.
The Jammin’ for Jonathon benefit was at Trinity Lutheran church in Mason City.
It’s a fundraiser to raise money to help Jonathon pay his medical bills.
The event includes music, food and a silent auction.
Jonathon’s family including this Uncle Tim Wells says they couldn’t be happier with the turnout
“Its pretty heart warming; Jon’s a good kid, he’s always happy so it makes me happy and the family happy that a lot of people have showed up for it,” said Wells.
Other parts of the fundraiser included a walk around Mason City to see the sculptures.
