Iowa woman found guilty in death of young girl

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — A Cedar Rapids woman has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of her ex-boyfriend’s young daughter.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports ( ) a Linn County jury returned the verdict Monday for Amy Parmer, who was also found guilty of child endangerment resulting in death.

Parmer was accused of causing the March 2010 death of 17-month-old Kamryn Schlitter. Investigators say the little girl suffered head injuries and had bruising on her neck, chin, underarms and chest.

Parmer’s former boyfriend and Kamryn’s father, Zyriah Schlitter, was convicted in the case last year. He was sentenced in February to 50 years in prison.
