Police: Drunk Iowa man interrupted sobriety test

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Police say an intoxicated Iowa City man interrupted a field sobriety test over the weekend that involved another person.

Iowa City police say 21-year-old Thomas P. Curran approached officers late Friday and talked loudly and recited the alphabet.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (http://icp-c.com/19xMZiR ) Curran is accused of standing opposite of an individual suspected of drunken driving, and walking a heel-to-toe line.

Police say Curran appeared intoxicated. He blew a .131 in a preliminary breath test.

Curran has been charged with misdemeanor counts of public intoxication and interference with official acts. Court records do not list an attorney.
