MASON CITY, Iowa – A man, a bike, his dog, and a prayer; that is all that Flynn Donoho is traveling with on his nationwide journey.
Flynn is biking around the country as his way of raising money for cancer research.
He says that in all of his travels he has met hundreds of people who support his ride and are affected in one way or another by cancer.
“I have not come across one person that’s said well, we don’t have anyone with cancer, I don’t know anyone with cancer,” Donoho said, “everyone’s affected one way or another so I decided to you know just keep on going.”
He has been riding the country for the past three years
This journey began in Huntington Beach, California where he set out to complete his goal of biking through all 50 states.
With only two left to go, Wyoming and South Dakota, he made one of his pit stops at Cabin Coffee in Mason City on Tuesday afternoon.
He rested for a while before hoping back on the road and told us that nothing motivates him more than his cause.
“I raised over $1,000, sure like to raise more, anything to find a cure,” he said. “My money goes to cancer research.”
Donoho is looking to raise as much as he can for cancer research and any donations can be made on his website, http://www.teamacs.acsevents.org
