AUSTIN, Minn. — Voices are being heard when it comes to a possible community recreation center coming to Austin.
Austin’s Vision 2020 held forums today in regards to the project.
It allowed folks to come in and learn about the idea, while asking questions. Some of those dealt with funding, location, potential partners and a timeline for the project.
With a plan of this magnitude, leaders say it needs to make sure everyone is aware of what’s going on.
“We had a professional survey done,” Vision 2020 Director Laura Helle said. “It surveyed a certain number of households. But, we know that everybody didn’t get to say their peace. So, this is a chance for them to come forward and do that. Tell us what’s important to them, their families and also learn about the direction that were headed for.”
She adds if things go well, the project could break ground sometime in 2015.
