Gasoline ignites, injuring 2 central Iowa men

STRATFORD, Iowa (AP) — A man from the central Iowa city of Stratford was charged with attempted murder after he and another man were burned in a garage fire.

KCCI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/16K6vrs ) the incident happened Tuesday when the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year-old David Lundberg allegedly poured gasoline around himself and a garage.

A relative, 20-year-old Dakota Buse, tried to stop him but the gasoline ignited.

Both were burned, but Buse’s injuries were more severe. He was taken to a Webster City hospital, then flown to the burn unit at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Lundberg was treated for burns and then charged with attempted murder, willful injury, domestic abuse assault and reckless use of fire. He was held in the Hamilton County Jail.

Court records didn’t show an attorney for Lundburg.
