State agents join homicide investigation in Tama

TAMA, Iowa (AP) — State experts have joined the homicide investigation into the death of a 32-year-old woman at a home in Tama.

Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation agents and crime scene specialists were at the home Wednesday night. Tama police officers found her body during a search of the residence on Wednesday afternoon.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG ( ) says the victim has been identified as Kerry O’Clair-Jefferson. Tama police say the woman was not a resident but was staying with the people who live at the home.

Tama police say at least one person was taken into custody as a witness, but no arrests or charges have been reported.

Tama is a central Iowa city of around 2,900 that sits about 20 miles east of Marshalltown.
