ALBERT LEA, Minn. — Friday marks another day of reaching temperatures in the 80s in our area, and it is almost October.

Are the changes in weather changing when people take their vacations?

The peak seasons for people to travel to warm-weather destinations like Hawaii and the Caribbean is between February and March.

Area travel agencies say that no matter what the weather is like that time of year, they do not see that changing.

“It’s just long and gray and dark, you don’t even get 12 hours of sunlight or whatever in December and January and it’s just nice to go see sunshine whether it’s 40 degrees or ten below here, it’s still nice to get away,” said David Nelson of 4 Season’s Vacations in Albert Lea.

He said this time of year is where they deal with a lot of people planning their vacations and in a couple of months they will be getting away.
