GLENVILLE, Minn. — You never know when the call for help will come.

It could be at home, on the road or at work.

Luckily for one man, Matt Jackson was there to answer that call.

Friends, family and co-workers at the POET Bio-refining plant in Glenville honored Matt this evening for his heroics.

A couple of weeks ago, Matt found a co-worker passed out on a floor and not breathing.

He then performed the Heimlich maneuver, which dislodged an item from the man’s throat, saving his life.

Plant leaders tell us this speaks of matt’s character and the type of employee he is.

“He just clearly understands what needs to be done,” Glenville POET General Manager Kelly Hansen said. “Well, in this case, Matt recognized a need and met it. And he did just like he normally does his regular job.”

He adds it’s a very comforting feeling to have employees like Matt, and others, on the job and have each other’s back in case of an emergency.
