Iowa man accused of sexually abusing detained teen

BLOOMFIELD, Iowa (AP) — Authorities in southern Iowa say a man sexually abused and assaulted a detained teenager.

Bloomfield police say Ken Turner sexually abused a 17-year-old boy multiple times over several days. He’s also accused of hitting the teen.

Authorities say Turner used a syringe to administer an unknown substance that made the boy dizzy and sleepy.

Bloomfield Police Chief Shawn Armstrong says the teen was held against his will at times, and escaped by kicking open the door of a bathroom where he was locked in.

The teen had recently moved into Turner’s home, but additional information was not available.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports (http://bit.ly/18QWafi ) Turner has been charged with multiple counts of third-degree sexual abuse, administering a harmful substance and assault causing injury. Records do not list an attorney.
