Lightning strike damages resort in southern Iowa

MORAVIA, Iowa (AP) — A lightning strike has damaged a resort in southern Iowa.

The lightning from a Thursday morning thunderstorm struck the main lodge of Honey Creek Resort in Moravia.

The Appanoose County Emergency Manager reported to the National Weather Service about minor structural and electrical damage. No injuries were reported.

Des Moines television station KCCI reports ( ) more severe storms are expected Thursday afternoon into evening.
