Mother, son sought in Neb. homicide held in Iowa

NEWTON, Iowa (AP) — A mother and son sought in a Nebraska homicide have been arrested in central Iowa, suspected of robbery.

The Des Moines Register says (http://dmreg.co/1b2qsgw ) 41-year-old Shelley Casterline and 23-year-old Andrew Casterline are accused of mugging a woman in a Newton parking lot on Saturday. Both are from Guide Rock, Neb.

Jasper County Jail records said Monday that both are in custody. Online court records in both states don’t list the names of their attorneys.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the two are wanted in connection with a slaying in the Webster County town of Guide Rock. The patrol says the body of 68-year-old Virginia Barone was found Saturday morning, and her death is being investigated as a homicide.

The patrol declined to release other information about the case.
