Iowan gets probation for indecent exposure at YMCA

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) — A 69-year-old Mason City man has been given probation and suspended jail time for indecent exposure at the local YMCA.

Dennis Vrba was convicted earlier this month on two counts stemming from incidents at the YMCA’s men’s sauna last year. On Wednesday Vrba was given a year of probation and suspended jail time of 35 days on each count. His attorney has already filed a motion for a new trial.

Prosecutors say Vrba committed sex acts in the sauna of the Mason City Family YMCA on two separate occasions in July 2012.

Two other men, David Escher and Douglas Petersen, were given deferred judgments and probation on one count each of indecent exposure. The men were accused of committing sex acts in one incident in July 2012.
