Police arrest man, find sorority’s missing ‘Phi’

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Police have arrested a Cedar Rapids man and apparently solved the mystery of Greek letters missing from a University of Northern Iowa sorority.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (http://bit.ly/16SPOQu ) university police searched a UNI dormitory Monday as part of an investigation into forged identification cards.

Officers found laminating equipment, ID cards and other items. They also seized a bag of mushroom, a metal grinder that apparently was used to process drugs and the letter “Phi.”

The Phi had been reported stolen from the front of the Alpha Phi sorority house on Aug. 29.

Police charged 19-year-old Adam Robert Lloyd with possession of psilocybin mushrooms with intent to deliver, violation of the drug tax stamp act, possession of drug paraphernalia and fifth-degree theft.

Court records didn’t show a lawyer for Lloyd.
