Officials seek help identifying body found in Iowa

MONDAMIN, Iowa (AP) — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying the body of a man found in western Iowa.

The state Division of Criminal Investigation says a hunter found the body Saturday in a rural, wooded area a few miles southwest of Mondamin in Harrison County.

The body, which had no identification, has been sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Authorities in a news release Monday said the man was white, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed 160 pounds. He had long gray and black hair and no teeth. He was wearing several items of clothing when his body was found, including black jeans and a brown plaid insulated flannel jacket.
