IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — The University of Iowa says a female student has reported a sexual assault at an off-campus fraternity house, but she has decided not to report the incident to law enforcement.
The university said in a news release Monday that the student told staff she was sexually assaulted on Nov. 9 by an assailant she knew before she came to school. She said the pair met downtown and the assailant offered to walk her home. They went to the fraternity house instead.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (http://icp-c.com/HVJwnC ) this is the second report of sexual assault by a student in less than a month. The first student is also not reporting to law enforcement.
The school says it’s releasing the information in accordance with federal disclosure law.
