DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A new software program will help the Des Moines Police Department track bad performance and good deeds by its officers.
The Des Moines Register says (http://dmreg.co/1asQtr0 ) the City Council on Monday approved spending more than $42,000 on the software.
Police Chief Judy Bradshaw says a snapshot of an officer isn’t available now because different records are kept in different databases.
Accident reports are tracked in a homemade system, citizen complaints against an officer are recorded another way and awards and accomplishments are documented and stored in a manual file system.
