ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (AP) — At least two of the three surviving children pulled from a pond in St. Louis Park are apparently showing signs of improvement at a Twin Cities hospital.
Family attorney Rick Petry says 5-year-old Amani Coleman-Guerrido and 1-year-old Aliyana Rennie have recognized the voices of family members. Petry did not have an update on the condition of 6-year-old Zarihana Rennie, who also remains hospitalized.
Two other children died when the car in which they were riding veered off a highway ramp and into the water last Thursday. The Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/1aONAks ) says the mother of three of the children, Marion Guerrido, was taking the youngsters to school or day care when the accident occurred.
Five-year-old Zenavia Rennie and Alarious Coleman-Guerrido died after the car landed in the frigid holding pond.
