Twin Cities archdiocese to release priests’ names

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis says it plans Thursday to release the names of priests credibly accused of sexually abusing minors.

The archdiocese says the names will be posted on a new page of the archdiocese’s website and in its newspaper, The Catholic Spirit.

A Ramsey County judge ruled Monday that the archdiocese has until Dec. 17 to disclose its list of 33 credibly accused priests. The Diocese of Winona also has until then to disclose its list of 13 priests.

In a statement, the archdiocese ways it will include the priest’s name, year of birth, age, year of ordination, and where the priest now lives. The archdiocese says all of the men who will be identified have been permanently removed from ministry or are dead.
