2 die in southeast Iowa house fire

ST. PAUL, Iowa (AP) — Two people have died in an early-morning house fire in southeast Iowa.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Sholl says 59-year-old Audie Ellard and 52-year-old Karma Ellard were killed Monday in the fire in the Lee County city of St. Paul.

The Burlington Hawk Eye reports (http://bit.ly/1f4Qa6n ) firefighters found both victims inside the house.

The fire was reported about 4:25 a.m.

Firefighters found the house engulfed in flames when they arrived.

A cause of the fire hasn’t been released.
