CLINTON, Iowa (AP) — Police have linked a Clinton man to a hit-and-run collision involving two unoccupied patrol cars.
Clinton police say 45-year-old Brent Cromer was charged Tuesday with striking an unattended vehicle.
Clinton police say the two marked squad cars were parked Nov. 25 when a vehicle traveling at a high speed hit them. The crash caused considerable damage to the patrol cars, and the high-speed vehicle fled the scene.
An anonymous tip later led police to Cromer’s vehicle, which had damage that was consistent to the accident.
Court records do not list an attorney for Cromer.
