Waterloo police seek man in connection with death

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — Waterloo police are seeking a man in connection with the November shooting death of a teenager.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1hNc2qT ) Tuesday that police issued a warrant for 23-year-old Perquondis Lequay Holmes, charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Witnesses allegedly saw Holmes shooting a gun during an incident in which 18-year-old Dae’Quan Campbell was killed. Campbell died of gunshot wounds after a car he was driving hit a garage on Nov. 14.

Capt. Tim Pillack says Holmes hasn’t been charged in Campbell’s death.

Holmes isn’t supposed to possess firearms because of a 2007 conviction for intimidation with a weapon.
