MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa (AP) — An inmate at a southeast Iowa prison has died in custody, and officials say his death was due to natural causes.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (http://icp-c.com/IUU5YK) that 46-year-old David Deangelo Wise, an inmate assigned to the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility, died Sunday at University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Wise had been serving a 10-year sentence from Hamilton County for two drug counts since June 18. Officials say a cerebral hemorrhage caused his death.
