Iowa man accused of chest bumping firefighter

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A West Des Moines man has been accused of chest bumping a firefighter who was trying to stop flooding inside his apartment building.

Fire officials responded Wednesday night to an apartment building that had water pouring from the ceiling, causing about a foot of water to accumulate on the ground.

Authorities say 56-year-old Gregory Dean Watson, an apartment resident, yelled at a firefighter trying to shut off the water. He is accused of chest bumping the firefighter and threatening to fight him.

A firefighter held Watson down on the ground before local police arrived and arrested him.

The Des Moines Register reports (http://dmreg.co/1d2Cx8w ) Watson has been charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts. Court records do not list an attorney.
