Delhi man charged with homicide by vehicle

EARLVILLE, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a Delhi man has been arrested in connection with a December crash that killed a Dyersville woman.

The Department of Public Safety says in a news release Friday that Dean Dempster III was charged Friday with homicide by vehicle.

Dempster was the driver of a pickup truck that veered off the road two miles east of Earlville and rolled on Dec. 21.

Dempster and four other people were injured. Another passenger, 23-year-old Brittany Honkomp, died in the crash.

Dempster was being held in the Delaware County Jail on Friday with bond set at $500,000.

Online court records didn’t list an attorney for Dempster.
