Iowa day care worker charged in child porn case

WEST BRANCH, Iowa (AP) — A 22-year-old day care worker in West Branch is accused of possessing more than 1,000 child pornography photos and videos.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen says (http://icp-c.com/1fVozZJ ) Brady Verlo is charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Verlo remained in Johnson County Jail on Tuesday. Online court records don’t list the name of his attorney.

Police say that as an employee of West Branch Community Day Care Center, Verlo spent time at West Branch Community School District facilities for after-school day care activities. District Superintendent Kevin Hatfield says there have been no reports that any of the photos or videos contained images of any district student or any in the day care.
