KIMT News 3 – Two Iowa environmental groups are working together to help restore the state’s rivers.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is collaborating with Iowa Rivers Revival and other water committee’s to help improve water ways.
Advocates say with more people tampering with areas along state rivers, water is becoming more contaminated and harming wildlife in those areas.
“We’d like our people to support river restoration and we’d like to find ways to retire all conservation and enhancement in Iowa,” said Jerry Peckumn.
Both the Senate and House will make recommendations within the AG and Natural Resources budget to possibly help fund this process.
