Homes being flipped

AUSTIN, Minn. — The housing market in Minnesota is hopping.
According to a year-end survey by RealtyTrac, the state saw lots of house flipping last year.
It shows more than 6 percent of all sales, were flips.
That’s when a single family home is bought, and resold again within six months.
Local realtor experts say it’s a sign of people being anxious to buy in the housing market.
“I think partly it’s because people are starting to feel a little bit better about the market,” Steichen Real Estate Agent Jacob Smith said. “There are still a lot of cheaper houses on the market but there is a lot of people out there buying as well. So it makes sense. If you can buy, you can also sell.”
He adds that lots of the house flipping is done in the metro area.
