High school students explore careers in nursing

North Iowa high school students interested in careers in nursing are getting some first hand experience.

Mason City High School students apart of Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates or iJAG, spent the afternoon at the Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Students socialized, played games and delivered Valentine’s Day cards to the residents.

“I want to go into the nursing field and get my RN, I’m going to Sheldon Community College. I’m excited to start my nursing career because my mother was a CNA, she has been and I kind of just took up the CNA opportunity,” says senior Ashley Barnish.

iJAG is a non-profit leadership development organization for students.
