Alcohol sales causing no issues

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A new report finds selling beer and wine on game days has not caused a rise in rowdy behavior at the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium.

The report shows that the number of alcohol-related incidents at the football stadium was lower in 2013 than 2010 — two years before alcohol sales began.

University Vice President Pamela Wheelock says beer and wine sales have not been the problem that some might have expected.

The Star Tribune reports that university officials want to continue the sales after a two-year pilot project ends in July. The plan must be approved by the Minnesota Legislature.

The report found that 59 alcohol-related incidents were reported in the 2013 season, compared with 77 in 2010.
