Sen. Klobuchar fighting state-wide drug use

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar is turning her focus to the problem of heroin use in Minnesota.
She held a roundtable discussion Sunday to discuss efforts to combat the growing problem.
Sen. Klobuchar recently called on the Drug Enforcement Agency to increase its focus on the deadly spike in heroin use.
The talks included local authorities, drug experts, and family members of heroin victims.
According to health officials, in the first six months of 2013, 91 people died of opiate-related overdoses in Hennepin and Ramsey counties alone.
