MASON CITY, IA – If you get a phone call asking to take a survey, you might want to think twice before hanging up.
That’s because it could be the North Iowa Corridor and Iowa Workforce Development.
They are updating their Laborshed survey where they try to gain a deeper understanding of the region’s workforce. They want to know who’s working – where people are commuting to and from to get to work, and other details about the local labor force.
According to Shaun Arneson with the North Iowa Corridor, “It’s a valuable resource for us to use as a tool as well as our existing business and industry. The purpose of these studies is to measure the availability as well as the characteristics of the workforce within the region.”
They issue the “Laborshed” survey every two to three years and we are told it takes no more then 5-10 minutes.
