Snowy winter leads to bad business

Winter is to blame for empty tables

ALBERT LEA, Minn. – The brutal winter weather we’ve been experiencing is also taking a toll locally.

After dealing with the street scape construction project last summer and now, the brutal cold and snowy conditions this year, The 112 on Broadway in Albert Lea is also seeing an impact with their business.

Kitchen manager Dustin Truesdull says that everyone on staff is eagerly awaiting spring but they know they have a little ways to go.

They’re hoping that once things thaw out, their customers will return and their business will be back to normal.

“Over the summer it was pretty slow with the road being torn up,” he said, “and this weather doesn’t help but it’s getting a little better.”

Truesdull says the year-old restaurant is already making big plans for spring and are excited to throw off their jackets and host outdoor events.
