ALBERT LEA, Mn – One local food bank is stocking up a little bit extra this month, as part of a program to help other food banks across the state.
You’ll notice a nice work flow at the Salvation Army Food Shelf in Albert Lea.
They’re bringing in today’s stock as part of the food share program.
March is FoodShare month in Minnesota in which Captain Jim Brickson says this is a critical time of year for them.
“Its gives us a chance to get caught up from, fill our shelves up a little bit and stock pile a little bit to help us get into the summer programs,” said Brickson.
This is the largest food drive for the state of Minnesota.
Nearly 300 food banks take part.
