High snowbanks blamed in two-car collision

Two car collision in Mason City

MASON CITY,  Iowa – With the amount of snow we have seen this winter it is no surprise that intersections are becoming more and more difficult to navigate around.

High snowbanks could be to blame for a two vehicle crash today in north Iowa.

It happened around noon in Mason City and official on scene say the snowy surroundings could have played a role in the drivers visibility.

One car was heading eastbound on fourth street and the second was turning south onto Kingsbird Ave when the two collided.

There were only two drivers and no passengers involved and in the incident.

Kristine Menting, of Mason City, was taken to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa with minor injuries and is being charged with failure to yield.
