Northwood reevaluating emergency operation plan

NORTHWOOD, Iowa – It’s been about a week and a half since officials had to evacuate the entire town of Northwood during a chemical fire. It happened on February 20th.

Now, city leaders are hoping to evaluate what worked and which procedures need reevaluating. The city council is meeting in a special session Monday evening. They’re going to discuss the evacuation, and update the city’s emergency operation plan as needed.

That meeting is happening Monday night at five, at the town’s city hall.
