AUSTIN, Minn. – The American Red Cross is assisting a family of five displaced from their home after a fire today.
Austin firefighters were called to the home at 402 NW 3rd Avenue at 3:26 p.m. Six units responded and had the fire contained within about 10 minutes. Firefighters say it appears the fire began in the kitchen. Nobody was hurt.
According to a statement Thursday by the Red Cross, volunteers were on hand to provide emergency assistance including infant formula and supplies.
