MASON CITY, Iowa – Want to be a welder?
Folks across the area apparently do, and one local community college is offering a class to help to just that.
These aren’t professionals or students here getting their hands on these welding tools.
They’re just folks looking to get some extra knowledge on the skill of welding.
With the State of Iowa seeing such a high demand in welders, NorthIowa Area Community College decided to offer non – credit classes to anyone looking to learn.
Fred Heidick, attending the class, says it’s been very helpful and exciting.
“It’s been pretty fun. It’s been real fast, learning a lot in a small amount of time, but I like it,” said Heidick.
Heidick says most folks attending have come back for each class that’s been offered.
NIACC will be offering the class again toward the middle of March.
