MASON CITY, Iowa – Police have arrested a North Iowa man they believe is responsible for an attack with a knife over the weekend.
Monday night at about 8:15, Mason City Police arrested Jordan Holmes, 23. He was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail, charged with Willful Injury and Simple Assault.
Holmes was arrested at a house on the 1700 block of South Delaware Avenue in Mason City.
This is not Holmes’ first run-in with the law. He has been arrested six times in Cerro Gordo County alone.
In the most recent case, police say he was at Lorados bar in Mason City early Saturday morning when he allegedly assaulted a woman, and slashed a man in the face when he tried to break it up.
Police say people need to be very cautious when stepping into a situation like that to help.
“Whenever they have a weapon and pull a knife out back away. It happened in this case, it can happen in a blink of an eye,” said Lieutenant Ron Vande Weerd with the Mason City Police Department.
His past convictions include eluding, domestic abuse assault, and interference with official acts resulting in bodily injury.
