PAIMI seeks advocates

KIMT NEWS 3 –  An area organization is looking for advocates to be a voice for those who may need it.

Those working for the Disability Rights of Iowa organization are seeking people to become candidates for their advisory council.

The organization’s goal is to defend and promote rights of Iowans suffering from a mental illness.

Executive Director, Jane Hudson, says being an advocate is doing a service that is very special.

“Its really important for people who can not advocate for themselves to have lawyers and advocates and that’s why we were set up,” said Hudson.

Hudson says they are looking for attorneys and those who are primary care givers for a child with a mental illness.

The council meets three times a week.
