MASON CITY, Iowa - In two days the official beginning of spring will be here, and in honor of that we’ve been counting down the days these past two weeks.
We’re finding out what seeds should be starting to grow.
While the ground isn’t close to being ready for planting yet, many are starting to grow their seeds for their potential garden indoors.
Owner of Jeff Otto in Charles City says that may not be a bad idea.
“Certain things you can start in the house, some things you have to wait for outside. It’s best to get your seeds early and get the best selection on those,” said Otto.
Otto says flowers on the other hand should wait until the ground is ready unless you want to keep them inside.
He says either way, folks have been stopping in a lot lately anxious for the upcoming warm days.
