MASON CITY, Iowa - One thing that’s consistent is that the weather in Iowa is not consistent.
That’s why one local Climatologist is letting us in on what he thinks we should be expecting this year.
Its spring and yet it’s snowing.
But for many of us it’s no surprise if you remember last year it was snowing in May.
And according to Climatologist Elwynn Taylor from Iowa State University Extension we better get used to it.
“We always expect snow in April, it would be a rare April if we didn’t have measurable snow. Maybe not measurable the second day, it comes and then the grounds warm,” said Taylor.
Taylor says severe weather could be possible this spring because of the weather patterns over the winter.
