ROCHESTER, Minn. — Some in southern Minnesota are learning how to build their careers in construction.
Nearly 40 businesses from construction to carpenters and painters were at the Rochester Community and Technical College.
Some of them showed what types of jobs exist out there and many of them are even looking for potential employees.
They did it for high schoolers, college students and those looking for a career.
“It’s really important to highlight the opportunities in these areas. Too often, people don’t understand that there are really good, viable career paths whether it’s in construction or the trades, plumbing,” said Placement Specialist Bruce Thompson with Workforce Development.
The group will also be holding a general career fair at the end of April where there will be 60 plus employers in attendance.
