WORTH CO., Iowa – A north Iowa man involved in a standoff with authorities earlier this year is now pleading not guilty to a criminal charge.
21-year-old Matthew Davis, of Lake Mills, is accused of firing a gun toward police officers in Worth County. According to court records, David entered a written arraignment and plea of not guilty to charges of assault on a peace officer.
The standoff lasted several hours with officials drawing their weapons. According to online court records, Davis still faces an attempted murder charge.
