Upgrading diesel engines

In an effort to reduce harmful diesel emissions the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is offering to upgrade older diesel engines.

Owners of 2006 and older diesel engines are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade.

Through the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act, the MPCA has $200,000 to upgrade older engines.

“The problem is diesels as everyone knows they last forever, so we’re trying to encourage people to make this an opportunity to do the right thing and clean up their older diesel engines,” says Mark Falvbach, a clean diesel grants manager.

This offer is for Minnesota drivers and companies. The deadline to apply for the upgrade is April 23rd.
