There has been some controversy surrounding the title of Minnesota’s all-time leading scorer in girls basketball.

The following is an email sent to KIMT Sports Director AJ Ellingson, from Howard Voigt, Director of Information for the Minnesota State High School League.

During the 2014 state tournament, the League had no documentation of either player’s statistics. However, past practice was to unofficially recognize players based on information from sources outside the League. That was done for Rebekah Dahlman last year and also for Carlie Wagner this year.

Our office was sent some information from Braham High School regarding Ms. Dahlman’s career stats this past Monday, March 24. League staff is reviewing that data.

Similar documentation will be requested from New Richland-H-E-G regarding Ms. Wagner’s career stats.

At a future date, the League will distribute a news release regarding both players’ stats and standing in Minnesota basketball records.
