DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — A boy was taken to a Dubuque hospital after repeatedly falling through ice on a partially frozen pond.

Assistant Fire Chief Mark Ludescher says firefighters responded Saturday afternoon to a pond at the Sisters of the Presentation center after receiving reports of a boy walking on unstable ice.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports the 12-year-old boy fell through the ice several times before he was rescued.
