Iowa Governor’s race update

DES MOINES, Iowa – A former Iowa lawmaker, whose application to run in the state governor’s race was rejected, is appealing the decision.
Earlier this month, Iowa’s Secretary of State said there were technical errors in Jonathan Narcisse’s paperwork that made it invalid.
However, Narcisse appealed. And, on Friday, the Iowa Supreme Court granted his request to push that appeal forward.
Both parties have to submit their briefs by Monday at noon.
Narcisse wants to run in the Democratic primary against Iowa Senator Jack Hatch. The winner would go on to face Governor Terry Branstad in November.
